Air Operations Center (AOC) Operations Specialist-Casual
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Reports to: Air Operations Center Supervisor
Salary: Approximately $1,764 every two weeks (pay period); equal to $18.00 per hour with guaranteed overtime (see expected hours of work for more information)
Summary The Air Operations Center (AOC) Operations Specialist obtains an overall picture of the daily flight operations of Pathfinder Aviation to facilitate aircrew in their decision making and management for scheduling. In addition, the AOC Ops Specialist aids in maintaining the airman/aircraft daily flight reports.
Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Maintain situational of multiple, simultaneous airborne aircraft across Alaska,Canada and the Lower 48.
2. Perform data entry tasks related to flight operations.
3. Generate spreadsheet metrics of historical flight operations.
4. Act as a point of contact between pilots, mechanics, company management and clients.
5. Initiate Emergency Response Plan in the event of an in-flight emergency.
6. Other tasks as assigned by the AOC Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and in the field. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently. This position requires extreme attention to detail.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Position runs approximately from May 1 to September 1. This is a non-exempt casual, position. Shifts are typically 12 hours in length and are worked on a schedule of 7 days on / 7 days off.
Travel This position does not require any outside travel.
Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or GED2. Familiarity with FAA Regulations, specifically Part 91 and 1353. Ability to interpret aviation weather reports/forecasts4. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Preference to individual with a current or prior FAA license or FAA regulatory experience.
2. Familiarity with Alaska physical geography- major cities/villages, mountain ranges, regions.
3. Familiarity with Alaska aviation geography- airport names/codes, mountain passes
