What is this career opportunity? The Financials Services Technology Bureau is looking for an Application Engineer to provide support to the State’s enterprise PeopleSoft Financials system. You would work on a team with 3 other Application Engineers reporting to the section manager. You would also work closely with our team of 6 System Analysts depending on the projects assigned to you. Your responsibilities would include technical analyses, software development, and programming support of the Financials modules.

This position affords the opportunity to telework from a remote location within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.

Qualifications:

What are we looking for? Education and Experience:

An associate degree with coursework emphasizing programming; AND
Applicable experience as an IT professional providing programming and systems analysis services; OR
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

We are willing to wait for a May 2022 graduate.
It would be a plus if you have specific experience with:

SQL (Oracle)
Web Services
Web basedprograming (Java, .net)
PeopleTools (Application Designer)
PeopleCode
Application Engine
SQR
Integration Broker

Competencies: Ability to:

Deliver exceptional customer service
Write code using various languages
Access relational databases using SQL
Troubleshoot issues
Follow development, testing, migration, and documentation procedures
Interact with staff and users to analyze and define solutions
Work independently
