Education Required: The minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma.
Skills Required: We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Analyst (Software QA Analyst) to join our software development team. This is an entry-level position intended to be a first step towards a career in software development. It will initially focus on software QA activities, but will transition to a full developer position. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills and the ability to work within an Agile/Scrum development environment. Through QA activities, they will also be able to develop an understanding of our software products and domain and to be able to test our applications. They will also be introduced to development through the coding of automated tests. They must be able to work efficiently with our requirements/bug tracking system to help us manage our sprints. Working closely with developers as they communicate bugs or other software issues discovered is essential to the position. Our work environment is relaxed, but we are serious about quality and customer satisfaction.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in computer science, management information systems, math or engineering. Associate’s degree with work experience in a relevant field possible
Any professional or education experience that demonstrates a desire and ability to do coding
Using requirements/bug/agile tracking systems such as TFS, JIRA, etc.
Website or other application testing experience
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Automated testing experience
Ability to understand, describe and test complex application functionality
Must be able to receive and maintain a secret level security clearance
Responsibilities:
Perform manual testing of our applications
Entering bugs into our tracking system
Coding of automated tests
Create and execute test plans
Tracking bugs and other software issues through the entire development workflow
Replication and documentation of bugs reported in the field
Participate in Agile/Scrum process to meet sprint release schedules
Make feature suggestions that would improve the end-user experience
