Requirements

1) High School Diploma or GED preferred

2) 1 year of credentialing experience required

3) Medical Credential Certification preferred

4) Knowledge with The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements

Summary

A medical staff credentialing associate provides credentialing and monitoring services for physicians and allied health professionals. The individual is responsible for managing credentialing, privileging, and regulatory compliance as it relates to the medical staff function. May collect, organize, maintain, and verify all aspects of the process. Must maintain a current list of physician board certifications with expiration dates at all times. Assist health professionals in daily credentialing inquires. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and policies. Credentialing associate is detail oriented, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as great computer skills. Performs other duties as assigned.

TELEWORKING: This position can be performed via teleworking including remote. Teleworking status is determined by the criteria per the Wise Health System Telecommuting Policy.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Vice President of Physician Relations

OSHA TASK CATEGORY THREE: There is no anticipated risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. Universal precautions must be observed, and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
